Minutes of Committee Meeting March 2024

  1. Attendance:

  2. Review and Approve Minutes of Last Meeting
    • Proposed: Rupert Seconded: Al
  3. Matters/Actions Arising:
    • James to create a Sunday C-Rides WhatsApp group, and share the link to join - see AOB
    • James to publish ride leader guidance, and include in newsletter - website currently down, will update when the website is back
    • Leo/Richard/James to submit annual return - Leo has access, James/Leo to liaise
    • Lester to speak with First Aid course providers - great course provided, with some great responses - thank you Lester. 19 people attended. Definitely worth considering running again - will include it in the next newsletter to consider later in the year.
  4. Officer's Reports:
    1. Chair: Email received about end of year returns/reports - ongoing
    2. Secretary/IT Officer:
      • Newsletter was sent shortly after last meeting
      • Another one to be sent in the next week or so, including: AGM, First Aid Course, Curry Night, Audax rides, Tours (if you're going on one, don't forget to invite other members), and group sizes on rides (max 10) and irresponsible riding
    3. Treasurer: No report - some transactions have gone through. Need to check end of year accounts.
    4. Social Secretary: Curry night unfortunately won't be at the CMC in the short term. Suggestion of switching to Balti Walla on Bath Road - to include in the newsletter and on WhatsApp.
    5. Runs Secretary: Next runs list being brought together. Unfortunately a lot of rides have had to be cancelled or rerouted due to the awful weather.
    6. Audax: Events for 11th May are now registered/listed and we've had a small number of entries so far. Would any members please offer to help at the end in Andoversford - 2pm to 10pm.
    7. Publicity Officer: Drawn a blank on getting anything promoted/published. Disappointed that no-one seems interested. Will try linking it to the Sue Ryder event.
    8. Welfare Officer: No report
  5. Any other business:
    1. 2024 AGM:
      • Booked for 9th April 2024, 7.45pm
      • Will include requests for committee members etc in the newsletter
      • All existing committee members happy to carry on
      • Reports to James by Good Friday (29th March)
    2. WhatsApp:
      • Following suggestions from a number of members, a community WhatsApp group has been set up
      • Seems to have been taken on well by members
      • Include an instruction that if you join a group, you introduce yourself to that group
    3. Website: James to work with Taylor and Alex N to rebuild the website, in time for the AGM
