Minutes of Committee Meeting October 2023

  2. Review and Approve Minutes of Last Meeting

  3. Matters/Actions Arising:
    • James to finish ride leader guidance, and publish to website and in newsletter - still outstanding
    • Richard/James to check Annual Return - still outstanding
    • Stephen to provide accounts from May Audax ride - being prepared still
    • James to send Joe PDFs related to Welfare role and invite Joe to a future meeting - sent, will invite him to November meeting - done
    • Mike to collate a list of Cheltenham clubs to share with Sue Ryder - ongoing
    • James to contact Marie about St John's courses for club members - message sent, not heard back. Lester is going to follow up with Marie.
  4. Officer's Reports:
    1. Chair: Nothing to report.
    2. Secretary/IT Officer: Nothing to report.
    3. Treasurer: No report. Richard and Rupert both now have access to the bank account.
    4. Social Secretary: Discussing Skittles match with County in early December at the Cricket Club. Curry in new year, late Jan/early Feb, at the CMC.
    5. Runs Secretary:
      • Feelers put out for the next batch of rides
      • Coordinator for C-Rides on Tuesday and Thursday/Friday rides is now Stephen McD.
      • Runs list will be published by the end of the month
    6. Audax: No update. Stephen is up to RRtY 42, despite some incidents with cars and poor roads.
    7. Publicity Officer: Stephen P to share his 40 year RRtY with Rupert, who will endeavour to get it published in local newspapers.
    8. Welfare Officer: Joe to be invited to the next meeting.
  5. Any other business:
    1. Touring: Al has offered to coordinate the various tours within the club, so that they are advertised more widely to members. Asked for a page to be added to the website promoting the tours. Al to provide James with a message for the next newsletter, to promote the concept.
    2. Cheltenham to Bishops Cleeve Cycling Link: Consultation meeting on 25th October. Details shared by Mike on Facebook.
    3. Sue Ryder: 2024 is the 100th Birthday of Sue Ryder. Stephen P is designing a 100km ride to visit the Sue Ryder centre, and as many Sue Ryder shops as possible, by way of an anniversary sponsored ride.
    4. Sunday C Rides: Currently not running a club C-ride. Stephen McD to contact C-riders to see if they still go out. Suggestion of creating a "Sunday C Ride" WhatsApp group.
  6. Next meetings: 27th November 2023 and 15th January 2024
