Minutes of Committee Meeting October 2022

  1. Attendance:
    • Present: Rupert, Leo, Larry, James, Richard, Ingrid, Stephen
    • Apologies: Caburn, Lester
  2. Review and Approve Minutes of Last Meeting
    • Proposed: Larry Seconded: Ingrid
  3. Matters/Actions Arising:
    • Draft ride leader guidance (James): Still not completed
    • Club Dinner:
      • Sadly not enough interest. Only 11 showed interest.
      • Look at Star College for September 2023?
      • Going to enquire about a skittles evening at the Cricket Club before Christmas, late November/early December
      • Suggesting a Curry night at CMC, end of January - Friday
      • With regards to the Awards, suggest that as the most attended annual event, the Club BBQ is where the award is given
  4. Officer's Reports:
    1. Chair: ToB: Larry & Rupert attended an interview with a journalist; sadly, it was cancelled due to the tour being cancelled.
    2. Secretary/IT Officer: No update, all very quiet
    3. Treasurer: No updates
    4. Social Secretary: As above
    5. Runs Secretary:
      • New rider rides: suggested that these run monthly from March to September, but need Ride Leaders (other than Lester & Ingrid)
      • Sunday C rides: dwindling numbers, with no start location; just meet at the destination. Suggesting that they have leaders and start from ICH, so people know what's going on.
      • E-bikes: brief discussion, agreed to state that we are happy to have riders with e-bikes
    6. Audax:
      • Planning Cheltenham Flyer Series - 1st April 2023. Does clash with 100km Tewkesbury ride, however unavoidable due to other weekends being unavailable.
      • 200, 150, 100 from Andoversford.
      • Halls to be booked
      • £7 per rider
  5. Any other business:
    1. Caburn's resignation: Thank you for his kind work as Runs Secretary, and his continued ride leading. His contribution to club goings-on is still welcome.
    2. Thursday/Friday day rides: Due to numbers, suggested that we drop the option of both days, and only advertise one. Committee proposes sticking with only Thursday.
